KILL ME!!!

So I have thought long and hard about doing some martial arts seriously. To that end I have contacted a few gyms to see what their training in Kickboxing looks like -- that's the one I am interested in to begin with.

So today I went to one of the gyms, Revolution MMA. and the guy there just floored me. His idea of a warm up is a 40 minute drill: skip, 10 pushups, skip with knees high, shadowbox, skip again for yet another minute, more push ups, then stretching (with legs apart on your heels grab your ankle, etc) then kneel and go all the way back down and then more skipping. and then the practice begins. They also have another program among many they offer -- Israeli Street Survival. Dirty tricks :evillaugh: grab by the shirt and smash his face. This one has a GOLD membership: 1500 bucks plus tax (this IS Canada after all) for a year, choose any programs you want, as many as you want. I could make it a monthly thing: I just need to show them that tragic face of eagerness but poor.

Tomorrow I am going to another gym that is closer to me that only does Kickboxing. Then I'll compare them and choose one.

EDIT: Well I am now officially a student of the Twin Dragons: Kung Fu and Kickboxing. Their approach is solid from what i've seen today and my calves are letting me know i did a good job. So for the next three months at the least I am all ready to go. They were straightforward with me, no pushing, no bullshit. All i need now is my uniform

All the martial arts and kickboxing you mention sounds exciting! Alas, I can only do them at home.
:iconbobfishalmighty:
Honestly? The thing that surprised me is how light the warmup is

What do you mean at home?

My name is Altair. My nature is the silence of death. My thought is as the wind. My tool is the Blade of the Assassins. I am there and gone like a flash of lightning across a stormy sky. No man is a match for me. I am the agent of change.

Coolies.
I haven;t done martial arts in years since i ripped my shoulder. I used to do Ninjisu, teakwon do, karate, and some form of kung fu. I loved ninjisu the best cause i got to learn, 3ft and 6ft staff, Japanese sword and knife techniques as well as knife defense. I miss it. I miss European sword too, Dam this shoulder injury!!
